Rainshadow Labs has a full scale Research and Development Lab, Manufacturing Center, and Quality Control Department. Our well-seasoned, time tested experience in the skin, body, and haircare industries ensure superb end-results for your finished product line. We offer custom formulated products for retailers, distributors, marketers, and entrepreneurs. RSL's veteran product development and production teams have developed countless successful product lines for luxury and mass market for over 40 years.

Minimum Order Quantities:

Custom formulas have a minimum order quantity of 25 gallon per formula. If you are looking for lower MOQs we would suggest you review our extensive catalog of ready to go private label formulas.

Formula Standards
We are a cruelty free organization and do not perform product testing on animals. Our formulations include raw materials that are kosher, vegan, and/or biodegradable. We use organic ingredients whenever possible. Our lab can help you create a formula that meets the certification you seek - whether EWG verified, Sephora Clean, Leaping Bunny, MADE SAFE, COSMOS/EcoCert, or NSF.

Natural and Organic Materials
RSL carries and uses a wide selection of natural and organic raw materials for our customer's formulation profiles. We are lucky to source some of these ingredients from right here in the Pacific Northwest, and many more from greater North America. We always strive to source cruelty free, naturally derived, and effective ingredients for our formulas whenever possible.

Custom Formulation Process
A semi-custom formulation starts with one of our stock formulas and allows for up to three ingredient modifications, such as substitutions, additions, or removals. All requested changes are subject to technical and formulation limitations, as certain ingredients or adjustments may impact stability, performance, regulatory compliance, or manufacturability.

A full custom formulation is developed from the ground up based on customer-provided benchmarks, target claims, performance requirements, and ingredient preferences. This process is used when more than three ingredient changes are required or when no existing stock formula meets the project needs

Our formulation fee is $3000 for semi-custom development and $5000 for full custom formula development plus applicable tax per formula. Following the review of your request, you will be provided with a formula agreement to sign. The estimated lead time for custom samples is approximately 4–6 weeks, subject to the lab’s work load and the need for outsourced raw materials. Lead time will commence once the signed agreement and development fees have been received.
