Legendary Blend of Thieves

During the 15th century Europe was absolutely ravaged by the bubonic plague. Legend has it that as the plague claimed victim after victim, a band of thieves took to the streets. Fearlessly they pillaged and plundered the bodies of the dead, seemingly guarded to the deathly plague that had claimed the lives of those they now robbed.

Daily they dodged being caught by the king’s men, until one day they finally lost their luck and were brought before the king. The legend goes that the king and his judges were shocked by the indifference towards contracting the plague that this wily crew of bandits showed. So, they struck a deal: give us your secret and walk free.

The thieves divulged they had been using a witchy concoction that protected them. This now legendary blend of the four thieves was rosemary, lemon, clove and cinnamon, with many accounts also claiming that a hefty dose of garlic was added as well. This they carried with them and wielded against one of the most damaging epidemics ever seen.

We are absolutely inspired by this amazing recipe of botanical protection- so naturally we had to find the recipe and make it our own. Based off the recipe found in the Royal English Archives, Rainshadow Labs’ Legendary Blend of Thieves is a combination of Rosemary, Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon and Eucalyptus essential oils (we figured you could save the garlic for protection against vampires).

Test for sensitivity. Cinnamon and clove oil are powerful oils and could cause a reaction in some people. Diluting this essential oil in vegetable or carrier oil before applying to the skin is recommended. The bottom of the feet is always the safest place to use and test oils, especially on children and those with known sensitivities or allergies. For your health and safety always test first!
